Prep: Painting

Before WQB started the full renovation, Anne and Kristen painted the walls of the trailer a beautiful forest green! Most of the walls would be covered by shelving, but there are a few gallery wall areas in the design plan that will show!

This paint matches perfectly to some wallpaper that is added during renovation!

Part One: Flooring

Step one is laying the flooring! Kristen’s amazing in-laws came in clutch with their flooring skills and made this process a breeze!

While they were working, Anne and Kristen’s partners were building the IKEA Billy bookcases and Kallax cube storage that will eventually go into the trailer!

Part Two: Wallpaper

As the men were prepping floors and building bookcases, Anne and Kristen got down to work on wallpapering the backs of the bookcases. The theme of the bookshop is whimsical fantasy forest, so this was the perfect wallpaper to match that vibe.

Part Three: Shelving

Officially, the shelving is going in! This is probably one of the most exciting parts of the trailer renovation because this is finally where everything starts pulling together! It really looks like a bookstore!

Anne and Kristen were overjoyed to see that their measuring and blueprints for the shelving fit IMMACULATELY! Couldn’t have spared an inch!

And a huge shout out to the co-owners’ partners for securing the bookshelves so strongly to the trailer! Those babies are not coming off!

Part Four: Decorations

Time to add all the decorations to the mobile bookstore! This is what really takes the store over the top and makes it truly our identity and brand! Anne and Kristen sourced decorations from everywhere and as more local artists join the WQB ranks, even more art will come!

The co-owners also strung hundreds of strands of vines to the ceiling of the trailer which creates an amazing forest canopy feel! In LOVE!

Part Five: Reveal

Here is the soft reveal of Wandering Quills Bookshop’s traveling bookstore! Anne and Kristen still need to organize the books and decide on shelf placement within each bookcase, but the big overhaul is complete!
